"Third Tuesday" Meeting
Celtic Cooking: Getting Ready for the Hollidays
Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave., Chicago
Get a head start on ideas for your Christmas and holiday baking! Get that pudding started early! Learn some new Celtic traditions, foods, music and stories to add to your family holiday celebrations.
Our November meeting will feature:
- Nora McMorrow presenting Irish baking. Thinking about making a special holiday Irish pudding? Want to try out different kinds of bread recipes? Here's your chance to learn from a well-experienced baker.
- The Galway Bakers, well-known for their Galway tea cakes, breads, plum puddings, Porter cake, and other items, will share some of their secrets. Learn from the pros!
- Dianne McCarty presenting Welsh holiday bread, teacakes, and Welsh holiday tradition.
- Although she will not be able to attend, Sue Pellowe will share items from her Cornish cookbook, Safron & Currants: A Cornish Heritage Cookbook.
Come hungry! Of course, we'll have to offer taste some samples. And bring your favorite family recipes and holiday traditions to share.
You'll also have an opportunity to do a little early Christmas shopping. We'll have some extra copies of Sue Pellowe's Cornish cookbook available. The Galway Bakers will bring some of their wonderful items for sale as well.
Bring favorite family recipes to exchange!
