The new Chicago local branch of Celtic Women International offers
a series of "Third Tuesday" monthly meetings featuring exciting
presentations on a variety of fascinating Celtic topics - arts,
music, history, culture, poetry, celtic spirituality, etc. Each
regular meeting also includes plenty of time for socializing,
mingling, and networking with other women of Celtic origin or
interest.
All regular "Third Tuesday" meetings take place at the
Irish American Heritage Center
located at 4626 N. Knox Avenue in Chicago. The meetings begin
at 7:00 pm with a half-hour of socializing, networking and
refreshments; a formal program begins at 7:30, followed by an
opportunity to talk with program presenter(s) individually and
to continue discussions with fellow attendees. Donations
are accepted at the door to help defray the costs of room rental,
postage and printing.
The goals of the local Chicago Branch are identical to those of
its parent, Celtic Women International. Celtic Women International
(CWI) exists to honor, celebrate and promote Celtic women and
their heritage. CWI is a world-wide non-profit membership
organization dedicated to recognizing the contributions that
Celtic women have made to the world. CWI honors these by sharing
their stories of success, which may inspire others to follow in
their footsteps.
In addition, we hope to assist area women by consciously helping
them build a social network with other Celtic women, both in their
local Celtic cultural interests and business initiatives.
